BE A SUPER TROOP!

MARIN DEL CENTRO has a Super Troop patch program, which encourages and recognizes troops that complete a well-rounded Girl Scout program, rich in traditions. Achieving Super Troop status requires troops to participate in various activities throughout the Girl Scouting year – many of which you will be participating in anyway! Being a Super Troop means all the girls in your troop must participate in the majority of the Super Troop requirements. Where girls are required to earn Try-Its or Badges, they do not have to be the same for every girl. Additionally, every girl in your troop must participate in at least two service projects.

Marin del Centro Super Troop PatchUse the worksheet throughout the year to record your activities. As you plan your troop activities for the year, schedule in the Super Troop items. The worksheet needs to be turned in by May 1, and all activities must be completed by July 31. Note any plans or activities you will be doing during that time to meet the requirements.

HINT: Keep the worksheet current to avoid year-end panic!!

The ACT committee will review the worksheets at the end of the year. After the worksheet has been reviewed, ACT can order the Super Troop patches.

THIS YEAR, DID (or WILL) YOUR TROOP…

  • Register before October 7?
  • Register a minimum of 2 leaders/assistants?
  • Have at least 2 adults submit a Volunteer Application and 3 references on file with Council?
  • Conduct a flag ceremony at a function other than your troop meeting (such as PTA, Service Unit meeting, school assembly) or participate in a community function (i.e., a parade)?
  • Participate in at least two service projects?
  • Participate in the fall sale and/or cookie sale?
  • Participate in at least one outdoor experience during the year (for example: cookout, hike, camping, etc.)?
  • Have an adult (not necessarily the leader) who is willing to be part of the planning committee for an Marin del Centro event OR sponsor an event this year or sign-up for one next year?
